'You Can't Catch A Tear In the Rain' is Abbey Michelle's second poetry collection to be published through Amazon. By far, it is the most heart-felt of all three of her books.

You read about raw emotions throughout all three sections which are Goodbye, Hello, and Thank You. It is a journal containing anxiety and depression which I relate to on a lot of levels- some poems more than others. Throughout each second, you can tell Abbey is talking to an old lover- a romance gone wrong. And with this, when she is alone, she tends to think and think; it can be overwhelming and since she enjoys writing, this book is the result of all these emotions she felt and still continues to feel every day.
Goodbye
In this section, I notice how the little pictures she has taken and drawings she has doodles do wonders to emphasizing the pain and really paints the picture of what she is talking about throughout the book.
I remember being on page 53 and having to stop to write in my journal. The poems I read so far were making my heart feel all sorts of things but pain stuck out the most. She writes everything so perfectly that I felt as if I was in her shoes, living with her mindset at the time, throughout this book.
A lot of times, Abbey writes a stanza in a poem and to really express how important this thought is, she tends to repeat the stanza throughout the rest of the poem. And personally, I believe it sets the mood for the poem in such a good way- it's unbelievable.
With me reading this book on the computer, I personally did not like towards the end of 'Goodbye' mainly because on page 74, the poem pauses and says to go to page 98 which is in the second section. I had to do a bit of scrolling so because of that, I didn't like it. It made me forget what I was reading before I had to memorize which page I left off on to page 98.
Hello
This second section of the book was probably my favorite out of all three. You notice the poems becoming more harsh and vocal to her old lover and probably herself. These were where most of the raw poems resided in the book. One thing I wrote about this section in my journal was: "These poems are written so beautifully, it honestly amazes me".
I actually did not take a lot of notes on this section like I did for Goodbye mainly because I was extremely intrigued throughout the entire part of the book; I felt it would be wrong to pause to write something down.
Because of how real these poems are, coated with pure emotions, it was my favorite. Not only that but the imagery she uses to describe everything she is remembering is wonderful.
Thank You
Throughout this section, I personally felt as if Abbey was starting to realize that everything happens for a reason- my favorite saying. I believe she finally comes to terms with herself- for the most part -how for a moment, this guy was her everything- her rock. Abbey actually is healing and I can tell you why: she wishes him the best. She wishes that he never treats someone the way he treated her, again. Abbey wants the pain he feels to be a reason to heal. Overall, I can tell she really wishes him the best because he made her a stronger woman to this day.
The ending of the book was very emotional to me. The final letter, so to speak. It's speaking to this guy she has written about throughout the entire book and she is reliving old memories and I couldn't help but be proud of her for using writing as a way to heal and grow from a good yet awful part of her life.
I will rate this book on Amazon a 5/5 stars!
