About Always Healing

Who Am I?

From my beginning childhood days up until I was fifteen years old, I lived in what most people call "the mitten" or, better known as: Michigan. I ended up moving down to Georgia where I met my husband. In 2018 after I turned eighteen, we moved up to Tennessee. In August of 2019, we recently moved an hour from the coast in Mississippi. My mother's husband molested me since I could remember up until I was sixteen years old- a year after we moved to Georgia and when we went into Foster care. It turns out this guy was not my father yet he fathered my two younger siblings. In 2017, I found this out through my therapist after my seventeenth birthday and believed my entire life was a lie. I suffer from major depression, anxiety and PTSD.

This hasn't stopped me.

I started writing when I was thirteen years old to help guide my mind away from self-harm. Most times, it helped. I found an app called Wattpad which is a reading and writing platform that I still use to this day. I began writing One Direction fanficitons which took off on the site. It boosted my confidence as a writer. To this day, I cannot bear to look back on them because they are so awful- in my opinion. One story sky rocketed with over one-million reads called The Boy In the Basement which is a fanfiction based around Harry Styles.

Throughout my years of being in foster care which lasted from 2016-2018, I didn't write as much as I should have. Especially with all of the things I was going through on a daily basis. Instead, I self-harmed, I acted out by shoplifting and running away. Not good whatsoever. It wasn't until my last foster home which I realized just how depressed I was. I was with my siblings, but I didn't feel as if I belonged. I began writing poetry just to try something new. And who knew what it would lead to to this very day.

The purpose of this website is for me to further explain everything I have been through in my nineteen years of living, how I overcame it, and what I have learned from it. You will also be able to submit your own poetry to be featured on my blog as well!
