This book was actually my first book club read with me and some of my online friends on Bookstagram. When we read the description of this book, we all knew this novel would be an easy, light-hearted read that we could read on the side of whatever other books we were currently reading. This synopsis is from Goodreads:

"Hazel Camille Bradford knows she’s a lot to take—and frankly, most men aren’t up to the challenge. If her army of pets and thrill for the absurd don’t send them running, her lack of filter means she’ll say exactly the wrong thing in a delicate moment. Their loss. She’s a good soul in search of honest fun.
Josh Im has known Hazel since college, where her zany playfulness proved completely incompatible with his mellow restraint. From the first night they met—when she gracelessly threw up on his shoes—to when she sent him an unintelligible email while in a post-surgical haze, Josh has always thought of Hazel more as a spectacle than a peer. But now, ten years later, after a cheating girlfriend has turned his life upside down, going out with Hazel is a breath of fresh air.
Not that Josh and Hazel date. At least, not each other. Because setting each other up on progressively terrible double blind dates means there’s nothing between them...right?"

When I began reading this book, I already knew this was going to be one cheesy book. However, I do enjoy cheesy books if I also enjoy the story line itself. Hazel was the perfect amount of "crazy" because Josh balanced her out with his calm. Their friendship is a friendship you wish you could have had but never seemed fortunate enough to obtain. And because of this, the love you feel towards these characters is heart-felt.
The writers state that Josh and Hazel are in their late twenties, almost thirty. I'm not sure if I am the only one but I honestly didn't get the vibe that they were almost thirty years old. It truly felt as if they were fresh out of college. Maybe because of Hazel's craziness or how cheesy the book was. Either way, I loved this read.
When it comes to a book club, you usually follow a reading schedule. Yes, we had something like this but I honestly could not help myself from finishing this read in such a short amount of time. I was hooked instantly and wanted to know what the outcome was other than Josh and Hazel finally ending up together because come on, it was obvious they would eventually become one.

As for the ending, it was made known on Goodreads that not a lot of people favored the ending. I am one of those people. Now, Hazel becoming pregnant is very realistic, it felt as if they made her pregnant and just ended it there. Like a slap in the face. Personally, I was hoping for something more. . . relaxed or maybe less chaotic? The ending still does not change my mind on this book because lets just face it: I loved it!
